Technology is a Double-edged Sword

Yes, it means we are making significant advances in productivity based on computing power, including processor speed and memory, data, and video. Devices are getting smarter with every new generation (5G is the latest). These advances also mean our devices are becoming obsolete faster, creating electronic waste requiring proper disposal. And proper disposal does not mean in a landfill.

Computers, video monitors and old TVs, along with printers, copiers, cell phones and the like, contain toxic waste. Toxic chemicals contained in electronics include lead, mercury, cadmium, and more. To keep all these out of landfills, old electronics can be recycled by dropping them off at one of our five Green Stations (see MyDoRight.com). Residential customers in Pulaski County will also have the opportunity this coming March to participate in a two-day, electronic waste collection event scheduled for the Simmons Bank Arena parking lot in North Little Rock.

So, start identifying the old electronics you may have in the closet, garage, ministorage, or that you are soon going to replace with new devices. We’ll recycle them for free at any Green Station, and at the two-day collection event on March 29th and 30th. Watch for more information to come.
