Here’s the Thing About Electronics

Did you finally get that new computer, smartphone, TV, or game console for Christmas? Congrats! We know you must be so excited! But that probably means you have a few old electronics that are ready to be retired and never spoken of again. If that’s the case – please dispose of your electronics properly!

Electronic waste – broken or obsolete computers, hard drives, monitors, TVs, printers, copiers, FAX machines, and the like – should never be put in your recycling cart or trash can. Many of these electronic items contain hazardous wastes like lead and mercury and should not end up in a landfill. These hazardous chemicals are detrimental to human health and the environment.

To keep these hazards out of landfills, old electronics can be recycled by dropping them off at one of our five Green Stations (see MyDoRight.com for locations, days, and hours of operation).

Residential customers in Pulaski County will also have the opportunity on April 2nd and 3rd to participate in a two-day, electronic waste FREE collection event where we will recycle your old electronics. Did we say it was FREE? Watch out for more information on this event in the coming weeks.
