Keeping “Tanglers” Out of Your Recycling Cart

What are Tanglers?

Tanglers are items that can become tangled inside the recycle sorting machine and cause the machine to shut down. This is not good!

What are Some Common Examples of Tanglers?

1. Plastic grocery bags and plastic trash bags.
2. Hoses, wires, and ropes.
3. Wire hangers.
4. Clothing items.
5. Anything you can wrap around your arm.

How Should You Dispose of Tanglers?

If you have any of these items above, they should not go in your recycling cart. Instead, you can either:

1. Dispose of them in the trash.
2. Bring appropriate items such as clothing, electronics, and functional equipment like hoses, ropes, and wires to your local Goodwill.
3. Take your plastic grocery bags to your local grocery store. At the front of the store, normally near the shopping carts, you will find a bin marked with a recycling label where you can dispose of your bags.
4. Finally, you can bring all these items to a local Green Station in North Little Rock, Maumelle, Sherwood, or Jacksonville. Find locations at MyDoRight.com!
