(Safely) Making Room For New Stuff!

Old stuff. Some of us have a whole lot of it. And these days, we seem to be collecting more and more, particularly of the electronic variety.

One reason is technology is moving so fast, new products with new features – more, better, faster – make the electronic gadgets we have on the wall, on the desk and in our pockets obsolete. (A new set of iPhones was just introduced by Apple that illustrates the fact of electronic-tech life.)

So, what do you do with the old stuff? Well, because most of these items contain some form of toxic chemicals, don’t throw them away. Instead, if it’s a TV or other item with a screen, computers, keyboards/mice, printers, phones, cameras, gaming equipment or anything with a chip or hard drive, drop it off at our Electronics Unplugged special collection event next Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8 and 9, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Verizon Arena parking lot. Just pull up and we’ll unload and recycle it. And it’s free! But only for individuals and businesses living and doing business in Pulaski County. For more information, go to RecyclingUnplugged.com.
