Going Back to School (Sensibly)

As schools reopen, it’s important to understand that being vaccinated can protect you and school children under 12. And it can help stop the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19. So, get vaccinated and have your children 12 and over get vaccinated, too. It’s in the interest of personal and public health.

Also protecting the public health is participation in recycling, keeping unnecessary and climate-changing materials out of landfills. To make recycling more effective, remember to use and reuse school supplies whenever possible. And if you get a new backpack for the kids, please keep the old one out of the recycle cart. It and the old supplies that may be inside can shut down the recycling machine. Old backpacks and clothing go in the trash, or donate them to Goodwill.
