Recycling in Pink and Blue

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas

Residents throughout Pulaski County regularly use their green and yellow recycling carts to recycle plastic bottles, paper, cardboard and cans. But this weekend, green will turn pink and blue as the Regional Recycling District in Pulaski County and the Little Rock Public Works Department provide pink recycling carts for this Saturday’s annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and portable recycling frames and containers for HarvestFest in the Little Rock Hillcrest neighborhood.

Race participants and weekend festival-goers will be able to dispose of recyclable material in the 25 carts placed along the Race for the Cure race course, as well as 10 portable HarvestFest containers that will accept plastic bottles and aluminum cans. Recycle America’s materials recycling facility located in the Little Rock Port Industrial Park will process the race materials, while HarvestFest recyclables will be delivered to Natural State Recycling.

The Regional Recycling District in Pulaski County and the Solid Waste Division of the Little Rock Public Works Department have provided recycling services for Little Rock events on an annual basis. For more information, go to RegionalRecycling.org or LittleRock.gov.
