Recycling in the Midst of Disruption

It is obvious to all that daily routines have been disrupted. And for good reason: Our number one responsibility is to stay safe and healthy, not only for ourselves, but also for one another. That’s one of the reasons the first line in the Regional Recycling District Mission Statement is, “to help protect the public health.” Part of that mission is to ensure solid waste is properly disposed of, and recycling of reusable materials continues. All in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner.

Consequently, one routine that will continue for now is curbside pick-up. There may be temporary suspensions of this important service, so check with your local public works departments to verify the service in your area. We do know, however, that the District’s Green Stations will continue to accept household hazardous waste, electronics, glass, and plastic grocery bags at the drop-off locations in Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Maumelle. (Sherwood and Jacksonville have temporarily suspended the operation of their Green Stations.)
