Disposing of Electronic Waste Properly
What is electronic waste? It is broken or obsolete computers, hard drives, monitors, TVs, printers, copiers, FAX machines, and the like. We call it e-waste. These items should never be put in your recycling cart or trash can. Many of these electronic items contain hazardous wastes like lead and mercury. Those are hazardous chemicals detrimental to human health and the environment.
To keep these hazards out of local landfills, old electronics need to be recycled safely and properly by dropping them off at one of our five Green Stations (see MyDoRight.com for locations, days, and hours of operation).
Residential customers, businesses, and non-profits doing business in Pulaski County can also drop off their e-waste on at Simmons Bank Arena parking lot on E. Washington in North Little Rock for our FREE, drop-off event. Did we say it was FREE? Yes, we did. Watch out for more information on this event in the coming weeks.
