An application has been accepted from C.A.R.D.S. (Central Arkansas Recycling and Disposal Services) to expand landfill operations at their site. The current Class 4 Landfill property located at 9611 Ironton Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72206, is approximately 62 acres with 20 acres permitted for waste disposal and is located south of the current C&D Recycling Facility. The proposed Class 4 Landfill expansion will include the land currently permitted for the C&D Recycling Facility. The total proposed acreage is approximately 93.4 acres. Based on preliminary and conceptual design information, it is estimated that this area will provide approximately 3.5 million cubic yards of usable landfill airspace for the disposal of Class 4 materials that are not recyclable. A Public Hearing will be held on November 28, 2018 at the Regional Recycling & Waste Reduction District Office at 10:00 am. All interested parties are welcome. Written comments will be accepted by the District until 4:30 pm on December 3, 2018.
