News Flash: Recycling Can Change!
Doing recycling right is a learning process. Seems we all need to go back to school when it comes to recycling because recycling continues to change. Why? Because recycling responds to commodity pricing, manufacturing raw-material needs, and new technologies that improve the overall recycling process. This year, as students and their families prepare to go back to school, let’s all engage in a little continuous learning – or adult education – when it comes to reducing waste, reusing products in the home, and recycling materials that work to protect our shared environment. Starting with the basics, please remember to always recycle empty plastic bottles and jugs; empty steel, aluminum, and tin cans; loose paper, including magazines, newsprint, and mailers; and cardboard that must be broken down flat to fit inside your curbside recycling cart. There are more items that can be recycled at our five Green Stations. And we’ll cover those later in the month. For more information, go to MyDoRight.com.
