What does YOUR cart look like?

Not all recycling carts are alike. Some are filled with cardboard boxes. Some with glass bottles. Others are filled with beverage cans. But one thing that all recycling carts should have in common is how they look from the outside. Does that sound a little judgey? Maybe. But all recycling cart lids should be able to fully close shut with nothing spilling out the top. When the top of your cart does not close, that’s called overstuffing and overstuffing needs to be avoided my friends.

Even if your cart is filled with accepted recyclables, that your cart and our recycling plant loves, the lid still needs to be able to securely close. If it rains, it can soil your cardboard and paper recyclables and cannot be accepted. Your cart can only handle so much! And we all know what taking on too much feels like – it’s not pleasant.

So, while we appreciate your over-the-top efforts, truly we do, make sure your curbside recycling cart lid can safely close for pick-up.
