2019 School Grants Contest Deadline is Tuesday, November 5
Doing recycling right begins with education. And recycling education, like anything else, benefits from knowing and doing; knowing what recycling’s all about and doing recycling every day as part of a routine.
That’s one of the reasons the Regional Recycling District offers an annual School Grants Contest. The contest, for grades 1-12 in public and private schools located in Pulaski County, is designed to challenge and encourage schools to create or expand recycling education projects in their schools. The challenge is in the form of a school-grant contest for the best education campaigns about each school’s recycling program. An award of $1,000 each is available for up to 10 winning schools. The grant application from the District includes the schools’ ideas for recycling programs, whether the school has a current recycling program, what recyclables are collected and how, the number of students involved and their grade levels, other active volunteer participants, and how the grant money would be used.
The deadline for applications is Tuesday, November 5. For all the information on the School Grants Contest, download the Application below, or email reita@RegionalRecycling.org.
