Wearing and Disposing of Facemasks
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 15, 2020) – The Regional Recycling & Waste Reduction District in Pulaski County has produced a TV commercial encouraging citizens to wear facemasks. The thirty-second spot also informs residential customers that used facemasks should be put in the trash, not in the curbside recycling cart.
“It has become clear that in order for our community, indeed, our country, to recover from the current viral pandemic, everyone should make a habit of wearing a facemask when in public,” said Craig Douglass, executive director of the Regional Recycling District in Pulaski County. “And because of the straps associated with facemasks, straps that can tangle in recycling equipment, when facemasks are no longer useable, they should be put in the trash, not in the recycle cart.”
The TV spot promotes the idea that facemasks should be worn “to protect each of us, as we protect all of us.”
The Regional Recycling District covers Pulaski County. Consequently, the TV spot will run on FOX News, CNN, CNBC, and MSNBC cable channels in Pulaski County only.
