Turn Glass into Jobs
Glass is remarkable! And recyclable. Here in Pulaski County, we can now recycle glass and turn it into jobs. How? Epic Glass Recycling, a locally owned nonprofit company, has built a new glass recycling plant in North Little Rock. By the introduction of this plant, so many exciting things will now be able to happen right here in Pulaski County.
The plant will be able to manufacture a gravel-like product that reduces the cost of road and highway construction in Arkansas. By creating road material from recycled glass, it not only saves money, but it also helps protect the environment by reducing the energy used to mine and process those raw materials. Recycled glass can also be turned into new glass bottles and jars, along with other products like fiberglass insulation for homes, beads, tiles, backsplashes, countertops, and more. Most importantly, it will create new jobs. So, to create jobs at the plant, put your empty glass bottles and jars in your curbside recycling cart, or drop them off at a Pulaski County Green Station. Let’s bring more jobs to our community. For more information on how to turn glass into jobs, go to MyDoRight.com.
