The “Washed Ashore” exhibit continues through the summer at the Clinton Presidential Center
This great exhibit features sculptures made of plastic and other materials retrieved from our oceans and on this country’s many coastal beaches. It’s impressive for two reasons: First, the creativity exhibited in these interactive sculptures is worth seeing and experiencing for kids of all ages. Second, the exhibit shows us how much plastic and other junk we throw away. You might ask, “What does plastic found in the ocean or on beaches have to do with me here in Arkansas?” Well, if, for example, if you throw out a plastic water bottle, it will most likely end up in the gutter, the storm-water system, then into such streams as Fourche Creek or Rock Creek, then to the Arkansas River, the Mississippi River, the Gulf of Mexico and to oceans around the world. Trash travels well. For more information on the exhibit, go to ClintonFoundation.org.
