Take Care with Take Out!
Many of us are now picking up breakfast, lunch or dinner from restaurants and fast-food franchises offering drive-thru, curbside, or grab-and-go services. Please know that not all of the packaging and to-go containers are recyclable. Particularly those made from Styrofoam and plastic. A good rule to remember about plastic is that if the container has an opening at the top that is smaller than the base at the bottom, it is most likely recyclable. That’s usually plastic bottles and jugs.
But Styrofoam should never be put in your recycling cart. Also remember the plastic bags from restaurants are not acceptable in your curbside cart. However, plastic grocery bags can be dropped off at District Green Stations in Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Maumelle (Jacksonville and Sherwood have temporarily closed their Green Stations).
