Regional Recycling Launches New Website
The Regional Recycling & Waste Reduction District in Pulaski County has a new website: www.RegionalRecycling.org.
The purpose of the site is to help fulfill the district’s vision statement, which says, in part, “to inform and challenge local Arkansans to achieve maximum waste reduction, reuse and recycling,” through effective education and action.
“The vision statement is one of the reasons the district has re-built its website, as well as working to increase our public service advertising and social media activity,” said Craig Douglass, executive director of the district. “We believe it is our responsibility to help residential customers do recycling right by informing and educating them through as many communications platforms as possible.” Cox Minshall Winans Agency in Little Rock handles online communications for the district. The agency constructed and hosts the new website.
The solid waste management district facilitates residential recycling services provided through a contract with Waste Management for Pulaski County and the cities of Little Rock, North Little Rock and Sherwood. The district also includes Jacksonville, Maumelle and Wrightsville, which provide recycling services direct to their residents. Links to information about these and other solid waste management services are included on the new website.
“The more people understand the benefits of recycling and what should and should not go into their curbside recycling carts, the more recyclable commodities will be re-purposed and eliminated from landfills,” Douglass said. “Plus, making it convenient for customers in Pulaski County to drop off electronics and household chemicals at our Green Stations located in Little Rock,
North Little Rock, Maumelle, Sherwood and Jacksonville, enhances economic growth and environmental sustainability.”
Information on the website includes residential service areas and pick-up schedules; what should be placed in curbside recycling carts and what should be left out; special recycling, including electronics, household chemicals, construction and demolition waste, and used tires; licensing and permits, including waste haulers; educational videos and current news items; and more.
