New Additions to Your Recycling Cart
New and exciting things are happening in the world of recycling for Pulaski County residents. As you may have already heard, you can now recycle empty glass bottles and jars in your recycling cart. Yay! But did you know there are even more items now allowed in your curbside cart?
Before – you could only recycle #1 and #2 empty plastic bottles and jugs in your cart (items such plastic water bottles, detergent, shampoo, and soap bottles), as well as #5 cartons for milk, yogurt, and the like.
Now – you can also place #1 plastic clamshell containers and #7 plastic portable/reusable bottles! That means whenever you order to-go from your favorite restaurants, you can now place
those plastic clamshell containers in the recycling cart instead of the garbage. And for those of you who love reusable water bottles, whenever it’s time to get a new fancy, plastic water bottle, you can place any old ones in your curbside cart.
We hope this makes recycling at home even easier and that you join us in recycling these new items, so that they stay out of landfills.
