National Recycling Day is Monday, November 15

We all should recognize the importance and impact of recycling, which has contributed greatly to our state, local, and national prosperity, as well as the important protection of our shared environment. The EPA reports that the national recycling rate has increased from less than seven percent in 1960 to roughly 32 percent today. The EPA study found that recycling and reuse activities in the United States account for 681,000 jobs and $37.8 billion in wages. We can do better!

So, to support wider participation in recycling, particularly for those hard-to-recycle items, the Regional Recycling District is promoting the all-day opening on Monday, November 15, of our five Green Stations located throughout Pulaski County. The hours of operation on Monday the 15th will be 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. At the Green Stations you can drop off old electronics, household hazardous waste, plastic grocery bags, and glass bottles and jars.
