It’s In The Mail!
The first American-produced postcard or postal card appeared in 1873. These cards were made because people, and advertisers, were looking for an easier way to send quick notes and consumer messages. We like that idea. So, residential customers in Pulaski County should have received a “Recycling Made Easy” postcard promoting three easy steps to do recycling right.
The card had three “ONLY” steps to take to make sure recycling continues to work for all of us.
Here are the steps:
- ONLY put empty plastic bottles and jugs (#1 and #2) in your curbside
recycling cart. You can tell which number your jug is by looking on the bottom of it. - ONLY put empty aluminum, steel, and tin cans in your cart.
- ONLY put paper, cardboard, newspapers, junk mail, and paperboard (like cereal boxes, but without the plastic liner) in your cart. Be sure to flatten all cardboard to fit inside the cart.
That’s it.
Please remember, no plastic bags or other items that could wrap-around or tangle-up (like clothes,
cords, or wire); no cartons or other paper items that contained liquid; and no glass of any kind
should go in the cart. Plus, no food, food scraps, yard waste, or anything that can spoil or rot.
It’s all on the card. And it’s all on MyDoRight.com. Check it out!
