Go Green - Free

If, like many Americans, you’re interested in living a greener lifestyle – we can help! Simply click here for your free copy of the Green Guide at a Glance and learn what you can do to protect the environment for generations to come.

Household Batteries

Effective August 1, 2009.

Household Chemical Collection Facilities in Pulaski County will not accept regular household and rechargeable batteries. Collection facilities will continue to accept automobile batteries.

After August 1, all household and rechargeable batteries should be taken to any of the central Arkansas area RadioShack stores. This is a free service offered by Rechargeable Battery Corporation in partnership with RadioShack.

Special Electronics Collection

The Spring Special Electronics Collection has been set for April 7 and 8 at Verizon Arena.

Date:  April 7 and April 8

Time:  8 am until 3 pm both days

Location:  VIP parking lot at Verizon Arena

This event is free to individuals and to business, non-profits, churches and schools in Pulaski Co.

Items Accepted: computers, televisions, microwaves, phones, monitors, printers, copiers, fax machines, DVD players, VCR's, stereos, radios, paper shredders and any electronic cable.

All batteries need to be taken to any RadioShack for recycling.

Large Quantity Generators: (trailers, cargo trucks, vans) Please bring your materials palletized, in gaylord boxes or at least (5) people to help with the unloading, if not palletized.

All businesses must either bring a letterhead from the company with the approximate amount of materials or will be asked to fill out a form at the entrance gate. This does not apply to household or individual drop off.

No materials may leave the lot once dropped off.  All materials go directly to the federal prison in Texarkana, Texas for processing and recycling.

If possible remove the hard drive, however, if not removed it is guaranteed by the prison that it will be destroyed.

We will not accept electronics from a business that accepts electronics for a profit. All of our drop off centers and collections are free and we will not be able to pay for recycling for a business that charges the public.
